The Project entails the design, construction and maintenance of the second Gateway Bridge and the upgrade of 20km of the Gateway Motorway between Mt Gravatt-Capalaba Road and Nudgee Road.
The Gateway Upgrade Project is located on the eastern side of Brisbane and is the construction of a second Gateway Bridge on the eastern side of the existing bridge including a shared pedestrian and cycle facility on the new bridge.
Included in the works is the widening of the existing motorway from four to six lanes from Mt Gravatt-Capalaba Road to Wynnum Road, from four to eight lanes from Wynum Road to Lytton Road and a new four lane northern deviation of the motorway from the Gateway Bridge to Nudgee Road, through old and new airport land which includes a second access interchange to Brisbane Airport.
Davis Langdon partnered with Sinclair Knight Merz to jointly manage the delivery of a full suite of Independent Verification services - primarily design review and specialist surveillance in accordance with the project contract requirements.
This included verification of the Contractor’s Quality Assurance System. Verification that all design used by the Contractor for construction purposes is in accordance with the Project and verification of design and construction at completion.
