Out of total £70bn estimated budget allocated to nuclear decommissioning programme approximately £45bn relates to the lifetime cost estimate for decommissioning and clean-up of all 20 UK public sector civil nuclear sites. This represents a major public liability and is the largest, most important environmental restoration programme in Europe. The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) through its seven Site Licence Companies (SLCs) is ensuring that the UK’s civil public sector nuclear legacy sites are operated, managed, decommissioned and cleaned up safely and securely, whilst at the same time providing value for money for the tax payers’ money and ultimately turning the liability to asset.
Due to current economic climate, pressure imposed on the public sector budget and Treasury cuts it is more important than ever to promote and implement total efficiency ethos in this sector through:
- Adopting the right strategy
- Realising value through sustainability
- Doing more with less
- Achieving certainty
Through a host of our core service lines, cost and project management and other complementary services described on the main home page we can help our clients in this sector achieve better efficiencies and improved performance. This is complemented by our pedigree in the nuclear sector as shown on the project profiles.
