Services Engaged Cost Management

This low-rise office building was designed and built to house the offices of the California Endowment. Davis Langdon assisted the client during a design competition phase, evaluating each of the different design schemes submitted for costs relative to the established budget. Once a design was selected, Davis Langdon provided cost management services to ensure that the scope of the building remained in line with the budget throughout the design process.

The building was designed with an eye toward sustainable design and user experience. The design focuses on energy efficiency, including a green roof, and provides open spaces such as gardens and courtyards. An emphasis was placed on bringing the outdoors inside, so meeting rooms were placed so they open out to the courtyard, and community meeting areas were included to encourage mingling and interaction.
